Taff's Gold is a western native growing plant that thrives in lower elevation woodlands near stream banks. It has basal leaves which sport beautiful green and gold variegation and usually have some slightly serrated edges. The stems are long and hairy growing up to 30 inches tall. Along the stems reddish brown to chocolate color flowers grow. Each flower has 4 long ribbon like petals which give it an exotic look.
